  Frequent pavement sections provide transitions between forests and trail systems, often featuring tight curves and elevation changes.

  Moderate (3–6). While not as consistently technical as the Limerick Loop, it includes enough variation to keep drivers engaged throughout.

Shawnee State Forest Sections
Difficulty: 4–6
Terrain: Steep grades, loose gravel, occasional ruts, and narrow forest roads.
Driving Notes:

• Known as the “Little Smokies of Ohio,” offering constant elevation change.
• Some segments can become slick or washed out after rain.

Brush Creek State Forest Roads
Difficulty: 3–5
Terrain: Mixed gravel and dirt with occasional uneven surfaces.
Driving Notes:

• Flowing sections broken up by tighter, more technical stretches.
• A strong balance between speed and control.

Pike State Forest & Pike Lake Area
Difficulty: 2–4
Terrain: Maintained gravel, park roads, and light trails.
Driving Notes:

• More relaxed driving with scenic lake views and open surroundings.
• Ideal for regrouping before heading into more demanding sections.

Potter’s Hollow
Difficulty: 4–5
Terrain: Narrow trail with ruts, mild rock, and occasional mud.
Driving Notes:

• A fun, moderately technical segment that adds variety without being overwhelming.
• Line choice matters in tighter sections, especially with uneven surfaces.
• Tree-lined corridors can get tight in places, with limited room for error.

• The most varied loop in the lineup, combining elements of all other routes into one extended experience.
• Alternates between fast, rally-style gravel, technical forest trails, and smooth, winding pavement through rural farmland.
• Long mileage and constant terrain changes make it feel like multiple routes in one continuous loop.
• Offers some of the best scenery in southern Ohio, from dense forest canopy to expansive agricultural landscapes.

• Multiple opportunities for fuel and supplies in towns near West Union and along the route.
• Additional stops available near Portsmouth and Waverly with short detours.
• Given the loop’s length, planning at least one mid-route fuel stop is recommended.
