Limerick Loop

   Smoother gravel and occasional pavement, particularly around Richland Furnace State Park, provide brief recovery stretches between technical sections.
• Overall Difficulty:
   Moderate to extreme (6–8). This is the most technical loop of the three, requiring both capable equipment and confident driving.

Pleasant Ridge Road (disregard road impassable sign)
 Difficulty: 7–8
 Terrain: Deep ruts, off-camber sections, mud holes, and heavily eroded hill climbs.
 Driving Notes:

• “Impassable” signage typically indicates severe trail degradation—not a closure.
• Requires careful line choice and steady throttle control.
• Expect body contact risk; tight corridors and uneven terrain are common.

Election Road (disregard road impassable sign)
 Difficulty: 7–8
 Terrain: Rocky ledges, ruts, mud, and steep elevation changes.
 Driving Notes:

• Highly technical with multiple obstacle sequences.
• Traction varies significantly with weather conditions.
• Momentum and tire placement are critical.

Dry Branch Road
 Difficulty: 6–7
 Terrain: Mixed mud, loose rock, and uneven surfaces.
 Driving Notes:

• Slightly less aggressive than Pleasant Ridge/Election but still demanding.
• Sustained focus required due to inconsistent terrain.

Wolfe Cemetery Road
 Difficulty: 6–7
 Terrain: Narrow, rutted forest track with mud and embedded rock.
 Driving Notes:

• Tight trail with limited room for correction.

Can become slick and challenging after rain.

• Minimum 33″ tires
• High-clearance 4×4 with low-range gearing
• Rock sliders strongly recommended
• Recovery gear essential (winch, traction boards, straps)
• Skid plates advised due to rock exposure

• Fuel up before entering the loop—services are limited within Tar Hollow and surrounding forest areas.
• Nearby towns such as Laurelville and McArthur offer fuel and basic supplies within a reasonable detour.
• Plan accordingly, as technical sections can significantly extend travel time and fuel consumption.
